Welcome to Blood Bike Leinster
Saving money…
Blood Bikes are a Voluntary Emergency Medical Transport service. Since 2013 we’ve been delivering a Specialist Medical Logistical Service to the HSE Hospitals primarily but not exclusively in the Leinster Region 365 days a year. We operate all year round regardless of adverse weather conditions by utilising a range of specialist vehicles; from our Emergency Response Motorcycles & 4×4 Rapid Response vehicles support for a true all weather capability.
The most rewarding aspect of Blood Bikes is through our efforts, we are able to support our HSE colleagues to make a real difference to the lives and care of our all-important patient beneficiaries – our free services support and equipment provision empowers our HSE colleagues the means to reinvest funds currently utilised in urgent transport back into areas where it is most needed; front-line services and patient care.
As a Voluntary Professional Service and proud representatives of the third sector, our service costs are funded entirely by generous private and public donations. Could you help us do more?
Saving lives…
In some situations blood, blood products, human tissue, stem cells, minor organs and human donor milk or other medical items may need to be delivered quickly to a hospital or other agency. Blood bikes with their distinctive livery and narrow profile can quickly negotiate through busy traffic reaching their destination much faster than a four wheel vehicle could.
Blood bikes was established in April 2013 with a team of dedicated local volunteers and commenced live operations in November 2013. Blood bikes support hospitals and other agencies across Ieland. We are fully supported by Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) who have over 60 yr’s experience supplying a free medical service to hospitals both in Ireland and Uk
