Becoming a volunteer

Blood Bike Leinster are based in 3 areas, Area 1 Kildare Area 2 Mullingar Area 3 Meath.

To become a Blood Bike Volunteer you need to specify which area you wish to apply for:

  • Area 1 Kildare you must be less than 20 mins drive from Naas Hospital
  • Area 2 Mullingar you must be less than 30 mins drive from Mullingar Hospital
  • Be over 40 years of age
  • Hold a full clean driving (Category B) licence For 5 yrs,be accident free and no penalty points.
  • Provide a minimum level of cover each month on a rota basis, willing to help out at fundraising events in the area you are based.
  • Blood Bike Leinster offer a 24/7 service with 90% of our transports taken place during the day 9am to 6pm
  • Promote a positive image of the charity to the general public

Why not Volunteer your time

Maybe driving is not for you, but, you still want to be part of a worthwhile organisation and a great team?

There are various ways you can volunteer without having to drive. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Event Planning: Do you have fundraising skills, could you plan an event, find sponsors, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
  2. Outreach and Networking: Assist in reaching out to potential donors, sponsors, and partners. This could involve making phone calls, sending emails, or attending networking events to establish connections and build relationships.
  3. Marketing and Promotion: Help create marketing materials, such as flyers, brochures, or social media content, raise awareness about our organisation and its fundraising initiatives.
  4. Online Fundraising: Manage online fundraising campaigns. This could involve creating fundraising pages, promoting campaigns through social media, or responding to inquiries from online donors.

Remember, each blood bike group have unique needs and opportunities, so it’s best to reach out directly to the organisation closest to you.
